EDL Division Tries To Scare Public About UK Muslim Population!

The EDL regularly like to preach the concept that Islam or Muslims are ‘taking over’. Earlier this month, the EDL’s Stockport Division decided to post a status highlighting the rise in population.

Comparison of given statistics and statistics from UK consensuses

  1. Birmingham: The Division claimed Birmingham has a Muslim population of 28% BUT the 2012 results have not been released and the last UK consensus said 14.3%
  2. Bradford: The Division claimed Bradford has a Muslim population of 36% BUT the 2012 results have not been released and the last UK consensus said 16.08%
  3. Leicester: The Division claimed Leicester has a Muslim population of 22% BUT the 2012 results have not been released and the last UK consensus said 11.0%
  4. Greater London: The Division claimed Greater London has a Muslim population of 17% BUT the  2012 results have not been released and the last UK consensus said 8.3%
  5. Luton: The Division claimed Luton has a Muslim population of 28% BUT the 2012 results have not been released and the last UK consensus said 14.6%

The EDL’s given figures are incorrect

The Stockport Division failed to provide the source of these statistics and they forgot how the 2012 consensus results haven’t even been released yet. We can see that the EDL’s statistics are way out of league and the figures of Muslims are greatly over-exaggerated!

A look at the status clearly indicates its copy and pasted.

The fake statistics posted prior to a EDL demo

This is a blatant example of fear mongering and a really bad one at that.

Stoke EDL Mosque Arsonists Get 10 Years

In December 2011, two men were sentenced to 10 years in prison after being found guilty of setting fire to a mosque in Stoke-on-Trent. One was a serving British Army soldier at the time of the arson attack, and told the court he was a member of both the English Defence League (EDL) and the British National Party (BNP).

The pair started a fire on the ground floor of the mosque and ran a gas pipe into the building from a nearby gas meter in a bid to spark an explosion at the mosque, which suffered about £50,000 damage as a result of the fire.

A few days before the arson attack during an EDL march in Preston, EDL members can be seen chanting about the burning mosques.

Majority Of Luton Businesses Fear EDL March In Luton

ITV News (25 Apr 12) reported that the EDL’s demonstration in Luton last year cost local businesses more than a million pounds in revenue, as well as policing costs. A million pounds was spent and what did the EDL achieve last time? Nothing.

Despite the safety of the public and even the safety of its own marchers (the EDL have been warned by police), the EDL are still keen on marching. Some EDL supporters are so keen, they sound eerily threatening…

Expect more money to be wasted.

EDL Claim ‘We Are Anti-Extremist, Anti-Fascist, And Anti-Racist’ – Breivik Thought That Too

In the EDL’s own Memorandum of Understanding: ‘Defending the right to defend free nations’, the EDL states:
Quote: ‘We are anti-extremist, anti-fascist, and anti-racist.’
Source: The EDL's Memorandum of Understanding

But Anders Breivik also thought this too, because he too, put it in his own manifesto shortly before he killed more than 70 people.

Breivik even stated that the EDL had noble intentionson the SAME PAGE. So perhaps, even though he disliked the EDL did things, he still sympathized with them and their cause.

EDL Leader Omits From Breivik’s Manifesto On BBC Newsnight

Shortly after Anders Breivik went on a rampage and killed more than 70 people, EDL leader was questioned on BBC’s Newsnight. In the discussion, he read out to presenter Jeremy Paxman what Breivik wrote in his manifesto,
Quote: ‘The EDL harshly condemns any movement that uses terror as a tool such as mine. This is why, we, view the EDL as naïve fools. The EDL is a democratic movement. They still believe that the democratic system can solve British problems. They have non-European background members, African and Asian etc. etc.’
But there was more to what Tommy simply read out...

What Tommy didn’t read out from the manifesto
Quote from manifesto: ‘I used to have more than 600 EDL members as Facebook friends and have spoken with tens of EDL members and leaders. In fact; I was one of the individuals who supplied them with processed ideological material (including rhetorical strategies) in the very beginning
Quote from manifesto: ‘The EDL, although having noble intentions…’
Tommy panics when he gets asked about Breivik stating that he regarded the EDL as a “blessing” soon after…

Friends Of The EDL, The British Freedom Party, Advocate ‘Mosquebusting’

Like the EDL, the British Freedom Party (BFP) have an anti-Islamic cause. This status update shows us how extreme the party can be, in which it called for ‘mosquebusting’ with the funds it may receive.

British newspaper, the Guardian, highlighted that the BFP has many anti-Islamic policies.

Click here to read on how the BFP is promoting an anti-Islamic message and asking for funds in the process.

Introducing The British Freedom Party: Promoting The Anti-Islamic Message

The British Freedom Party (BFP), is a relatively new group, and should be looked upon with great caution.

With EDL leader Tommy Robinson as the new Deputy Leader, its clearly obvious they have links.

Asking for funds to spread the anti-Islamic message

The 'threat of Islam' is mentioned before economics, education, health. Is there more concern of the 'threat of Islam'?

As we can see, the BFP is trying rack up funds and donations to gain a stronger hold in British politics to help promote an anti-Islamic cause, which will raise tensions and make divides throughout the British community.

The BFP is a hate group.

The EDL also asked for funds for similar items - Coincidence?

Strangely, the request for donations is similar to how the EDL tried asking for donations for the Luton protest on the 5th of May (the items to be bought not really having any relevance to the protest whatsoever).

Click here to read how the EDL might be secretly aiding the BFP.

Cumbrian North West Infidels Make Nazi Symbol Out Of Shoes

We have seen many cases of supporters of the EDL promoting or following Nazi ideology before. Recently, the Cumbrian North West Infidels posted this disturbing picture on their Facebook Wall.

If this was the admin himself, he should be investigated.

It’s not the first time the North West Infidels have been setting a bad example.

Click here to read about the five men who were recently arrested following raids around different part on the UK in connection with race-hate material posted online.

This is just another example of how extreme EDL supporters can be.

EDL Wednesbury Division Threaten Luton ‘We ARE Coming Down Your Road Luton. NSE’

The EDL plan to march in Luton on May the 5th even though being told not to. Luton Today reported that a councillor said, “Last time, people told the EDL, ‘Sod off, we don’t want you here.’ That is the message we need to give them again this time.”

But it seems the EDL just don’t want to listen to the people. Here, the EDL’s Wednesbury Division posted a status that seems somewhat threatening.

Britain's city speaks out... the EDL doesn't listen.

Various sources states that the upcoming protest will provide the EDL leader to speak out about his new allocation as Deputy Leader of the British Freedom Party, a party that has been recently criticized for having anti-Islamic policies.

Five Far-Right EDL Extremists Arrested In Police Raids

The Metro (19 Apr 12) recently reported that five men were arrested following raids around different part on the UK in connection with race-hate material posted online. They were arrested on suspicion of offences under the Public Order Act, publishing or distributing written material that may stir up racial hatred.

They came from different areas: Holloway, Birkenhead, North Tyneside, County Durham, and Barnsley.

The members had links to the North West Infidels group.

EDL Armed Forces Division Doesn't Regard Soldiers As Heroes?

Many times, the EDL and its supporters have claimed that British troops are “heroes”. But the EDL’s Armed Forces Division ‘Liked’ a Page titled: ‘Soldiers are not heroes. They are tools of war’.

They may well be tools of war, but to suggest they are not heroes seems to undermine the stance the EDL put on troops and forces.

Disrespectful for the EDL's standards?

It’s disrespectful for a Muslim extremist to do this, but not disrespectful if the EDL does it? We know some members of the EDL will oppose this action. But the Armed Forces Division certainly finds it acceptable.

Tottenham Court Hostage Situation – Where Are The EDL?

Earlier today, police got reports about a man throwing computer equipment and office furniture from the fifth floor of a building in Tottenham Court Road, London. The man was reportedly wearing gas canisters and took hostages.

The EDL leader tweeted this,

But it seems the EDL leader had bigger things to worry about, laughing at a Twitter joke whilst the event happened,

The joke isn't even funny.

We ask everyone… for a ‘human rights organisation’ and a group protesting against extremism, where are the EDL? Will they protest? What are they doing?

If the man was a Muslim the EDL would be first in line to express outrage. But sadly, the EDL seem to be brushing this terrorist under the carpet.

EDL Leader Tweets ‘Forget How Much Our Demo’s Cost…’ – Forget?

The EDL love protesting about different things, but when a protest actually happens, it costs the council, area, or governmental body lots of money. By money, we mean lots.

As a prominent example, click here to read how one EDL protest in the small town of Halifax cost Calderdale £336,000.

But EDL leader Tommy Robinson doesn’t really seem to care about how much demo’s cost, tweeting,

It costs the police to follow the EDL and your protests too Tommy.

Fair to say, the British taxpayer contributes to the policing of communities, but when the EDL protest, money is wasted… whilst the EDL continue to ask for donations. Click here to read about their attempt to ask for donations for radio equipment worth £2,250 in total.

Every little helps... with the EDL off the streets.

Trespassing EDL Protesters Scare 8 Year Old

The Lanchashire Evening Post reported that a small EDL protest was organised in Lancashire. At one point, a swarm of protesters marched into a politician’s garden without permission and banged on the window, scaring the small eight-year-old inside.

An eight-year-old and the mother of the girl were in the house and were ‘petrified’.

Twelve of the protesters will be sentenced on public order offences. One has pleaded guilty to racially aggravated provocation of violence and one has even admitted to having a weapon.

EDL Asks For £2,250 In Donations Not For Security But More Like A Radio Channel

The EDL’s leader received a warning from the police, warning him and EDL supporters that they can be at security risk. What do the EDL do to stop this from happening? Stop the protest and protect its members? Follow the police authorities advice? No.

Ask for donations!

Donations for a radio channel?

The donations don’t even seem to have any relevance to ‘ensuring the safety’ of its members. The EDL state they are going to buy:
  1. Professional Radio Communication Equipment – £2,000.00
  2. ‘Offcom’ Private Radio Channel Licence – £250.00
But it sounds like the EDL want a radio channel. A radio license will not help protect supporters at a protest, so its rather pointless. The EDL must also spell Ofcom correctly.

It may well be that the EDL is trying to aid the British Freedom Party.

‘Those that so violently oppose us...’

Let's be honest, EDL protests have been known to be more violent than the opposition, like this one in Stoke.

EDL Leader Deters From Breivik Contact With ‘Naïve Fools’ Argument

The EDL seem to be trying to keep their reputation by denying they had any contact with Anders Breivik.

In the BBC programme, Big Questions, when asked about whether Breivik had contact with the EDL, EDL leader Tommy Robinson argued that the EDL didn’t. He argued by using Breivik’s manifesto where Breivik describes the EDL as ‘naïve fools’.

Let's look at what came from the donkey's mouth

But on the SAME PAGE of that manifesto, Breivik admires the EDL for having ‘noble intentions’. Breivik as we know, for one, had a distinct opposition to Islam (like the EDL). In a story published by The Mirror, he also said the EDL was a “blessing”.

A person can like what a person does (having noble intentions), but not the way he or she does it (they are perhaps naïve). The same applies to these two statements at hand in the manifesto. The EDL leaders argument therefore, carries little weight.

The EDL’s leader is merely using and omitting what he sees fit to avoid a loss of reputation. He even omitted information from the manifesto on BBC’s Newsnight. Click here to read about it.

It is also highly disturbing that the EDL leader tries to avoid the claim that Anders Breivik claimed he had around 600 Facebook friends belonging to the EDL. This is in the manifesto itself and even on the SAME PAGE!

Click here to read about Breivik’s self-confessed ties and contact with the EDL.

EDL Deny Anders Breivik Contact Even Though He Claimed He Did - Even With Leaders

The EDL has been denying any contact or relationship to mass murderer Anders Breivik, the Norway bomber who killed more than 70 people. A news feature published on the EDL website highlights:

But Breivik claims to have had contact with the EDL HIMSELF

The EDL has no official membership requirements

Quote: ‘The EDL has previously said that it had no “official” contact with Breivik. But a security source told the Daily Mirror: “The EDL does not have, and never has had, ‘official’ membership requirements.”
That being said, it would have been easy for Breivik to use the EDL forums and Facebook Pages to communicate and gain influence. After all, he did claim have a Facebook account and have many EDL friends on there.

Breivik attended EDL demo/s

It is reported by even some EDL members themselves that Breivik attended some demo's, like a EDL demo in the city of Bradford in the UK. This has been reported by Channel 4, the Guardian and the Telegraph.

Breivik had contact with more than 600 EDL members and even leaders

In his manifesto, Breivik personally claimed to have had more than 600 EDL-supporting Facebook friends,
Quote: ‘I used to have more than 600 EDL members as Facebook friends and have spoken with tens of EDL members and leaders.’ [We emphasise the word ‘leaders’ especially]

White Man Gets Beaten - EDL Angels Blame The Muslims

We have sadly seen some cases of violence in the past. The incident at hand was of a white ethnic background male being beaten up by a group of four to five Asian males. The English Defence League Angels Facebook Page overreacted.

Asians can belong to any faith group. Even the Chinese are Asians.

Is it ethical to blame ALL Muslims by the actions of four or five Asians? No

And it must be said, the Angels really do have a potty-mouth. Most of them are self-confessed ‘mothers’, so we doubt this can be good for their children.

Giving Children An Education Is ‘Creeping Sharia’ According To Yorkshire EDL Division

There tends to be a lot of fear-mongering around the EDL network, trying to scare fellow members and others that Islam and Sharia Law is ‘taking over’, when we’ve found that Sharia Law is nearly impossible to implement in the UK as law of the land. Click here to read why.

Nevertheless, the Yorkshire EDL Halifax Division posted a link mentioning a faith school (there are many in the UK), and its positive proposition plans.

Is it creeping Sharia to give children an education?

The headmaster is not even a Muslim.

The article that was linked mentioned this and we expected the EDL Division would have noticed. Sadly not. One supporter then went on to say it was a ‘Training school for Terrorists !’.

The EDL have been in Halifax before, and cost the council approximately £336,000. Click here to read about it.

The Danish Defence League – What A Tolerant-Looking Bunch

The EDL has Divisions and also a rather dangerous international network. Perhaps, not as big abroad as over here, but a lot of links are made. The Danish Defence League is one group that also shares the same ideologies that the EDL have, and also share a similar but scary fashion sense…

Calm down ladies.

Some members from the Danish Defence League attended the EDL summit in Denmark, but were outnumbered more than 20 to 1 by opposition. Even from the UK, around 15 supporters went, even though hundreds were expected to support the EDL and its cause.

Anders Gravers (a man connected to far-right causes) attended and threatened the media saying,
Quote: ‘The media must be challenged to report our protests or we will accuse them of supporting the violence of the world's biggest hate group. Islam.’
Other than preaching intolerance, the media proved the man wrong. The media reported this protest, highlighting that the EDL and its supporters struck a new low.

Offended By The English Flag? The EDL Over Exaggerates

We know the English flag should be respected, but a small minority of people haven’t really been too respectful in the past. Rather than condemn it, many EDL supporters have become quite intolerant and tell people who don’t like it, just to ‘go back home’, like this particular (bad quality) picture shared on Facebook.

"OH MY GOD IT'S AN ENGLISH FLAG I CAN'T LOOK AT IT!"

The EDL and its supporters must think realistically. Its true that there have been some cases where the flag has been told to be put down, but this is only a small incident. It’s not even on a mass scale. And neither does it give the justification to tell people to ‘go back home’. That would be outright rude.

People getting ‘offended’ by the English flag has become some sort of fear mongering hype. And sadly, the gullible fall for it.

Highlighting ‘Muslim’ Paedophiles And Forgetting Others Even Their Own

Face it, paedophilia is not an Islamic problem. Yet the EDL are very quick to jump on the bandwagon and give off the impression that it is. They aren’t? Not even shouting “ALLAH IS A PAEDO” at protests? Well the EDL’s Bradford Division posted a picture on their Facebook Wall, adding further fear and divisions within the Bradford community.

How can you even recognise a 'Muslim paedo'?

The EDL tend to be very quick to jump to the Asian or ‘Muslim’ community problems, but fail to condemn, recognise or protest against the paedophile cases which aren’t related to Asian or ‘Muslim’ people. It’s like they’re intentionally doing it.

Do the EDL tolerate non-Muslim paedophilia cases then?

It surely looks like it, because the EDL never speaks out against non-Asian or non-Muslim cases. The EDL for example have not spoke out about these recent cases of paedophilia these news agencies have highlighted:

  • ‘Paedophile’ at Premiership football club - The Sun (22 Apr 12)
  • Paedophiles raid child abuse campaigner’s site and post sick threat messages to supporters - The Sun (20 Apr 12)
  • Paedophile priest former priest pleads guilty to past offences - BBC News (20 Apr 12)
  • Convicted paedophile caught filming children by neighbour jailed after police found thousands of indecent images on computer - Northampton Chronicle & Echo (21 Apr 12)

Deliberate cherry picking

Clearly, the EDL do a lot of cherry picking, and like adding fuel to the fire. They use these cases to further their causes and make people angrier. Doing this, as we have found out, can lead to disastrous and extreme results. Like these views on a article that are highly extreme.

Opposing stoning to death, yet liking these capital punishment methods?

The EDL has its own convicted paedophiles

The EDL even has cases of paedophilia and child abuse in their own network. Shall we bring these into question now?

EDL Supporter Sets Fire To Women’s Hair And Racially Abuses Passer-By

The Examiner reported an event (14 Apr 12) that highlights a case of assault, harm and racism from the EDL.

A man from Dewbury was drunk, approached a woman he knew and burnt her hair with a cigarette lighter. The man then saw a Pakistani man passing by and shouted racist abuse to him.

Quote: He chanted the name of the English Defence League and yelled: “I am racist and proud of it.”
The man has been granted conditional bail.

EDL Armed Forces Division Posts ‘Terrorists Should Be Executed’ – EDL Still A Human Rights Organisation?

The EDL has an enormous far-right network of Divisions, and one of these Divisions is the Armed Forces Division. Recently, it posted a rather scary status commenting that ‘Terrorists Should Be Executed’.

This undermines the EDL’s Mission Statement, that points out the EDL aims to be a ‘Human Rights Organisation’. It is also highly contradictory to the EDL’s regular preaching about cutting thieves hands off and stoning that happen in a minority of Islamic countries. This makes the Division no different from the extremists they oppose!

To avoid being found out, the Division copy-and-pasted this on its ‘About’ section,
Quote: ‘You are hereby notified that you are strictly prohibited from disclosing, copying, distributing, or taking any other action against me with regard to this profile and the contents herein.’
Somehow, the Division fails to realise that the Facebook Page is open to the public, so this excuse will not help deter people from analysing and exposing the far-right network of perhaps… potential extremists.

George Galloway Gets Elected - South Yorkshire Infidels Want Him Dead

It was recent news that Bradford gained a new MP in the Bradford West by-election of 2012. True, there have been many people disagreeing over the fact he got elected in, but some have gone to extreme lengths, like the EDL’s South Yorkshire Infidels (practically the South Yorkshire Division) who posted this rather scary picture on their Facebook Wall.

Is this not extremism?

The majority of British Bradford citizens wanted George Galloway, so the EDL cannot complain about anything and will have to live with it. EDL supporters will definitely... have to stop being extremists.

This could be a potential terrorist case.

EDL Leader Pins Blame On Muslims On Luton Integration On BBC Big Questions

On the BBC’s programme Big Questions, EDL leader Tommy Robinson said,
Quote: ‘If you go to Luton, half of my best mates are West Indians, how come the Jews, the Sikhs, the Hindus, the West Indians, everybody is integrating, there’s no problem there’s no commotion… you just spoke about two racist incidents last week, 38 girls on Friday in court in Oxford… are being abused and raped… when are Muslims going to take to the streets…’
Grooming is not an Islamic issue. The topic of grooming is certainly a serious issue, but it’s not an Islamic one, so the argument carries little weight. Also, the religion of the rapists and abusers are not significant. As we know, Islam forbids and condemns pre-marital sex and rape so again, Tommy’s statement carries hardly any weight.

Contradictions and generalizations

Tommy also contradicts the statements he’s made in previous interviews saying ‘Islam is not a race’. He also generalizes and accuses ALL Muslims for failing to integrate. This is not the first time he has put all Muslims in one bubble. Click here for his speech at a protest at Tower Hamlets where he threatens every British Muslim living in the UK.

Is the EDL integrating in Luton? No

We’ll have a look at Luton News, Luton’s very own news agency and see whether the EDL have been integrating themselves.
  • MEP Howitt booed by EDL crowd at meeting (26 May 11)
  • MEP ‘proud’ Luton is leading fight against EDL (5 Feb 11)
  • ‘People ‘living in fear’ of EDL demo’ (11 Jan 11)
  • Church groups condemn vandal attack on Bury Park mosque (25 Jul 11)
  • Councils team up to tackle EDL (28 Feb 12)
  • EDL members fined over rooftop protest (16 Nov 11)
  • EDL leader Tommy Robinson charged with assault (16 Jun 11)
  • MPs: Town is against march (12 Jan 11)
  • Far fewer protestors than feared in the town (5 Feb 11)
  • Tensions at station as hundreds of protestors arrive for demos (5 Feb 11)
So it would seem the EDL are failing to integrate themselves, with some EDL supporters even vandalising places of worship.

Tommy Robinson’s Assault Story Just Doesn't Add Up

Last year, EDL leader Tommy Robinson claimed he got beaten up by a group of Pakistani youths. He supposedly pulled over when a car flashed its lights at him and got out, without really seeing a group of aggressive looking men wearing knuckle-dusters coming towards him and running. Clever. We will add our notes in brackets at the end of any appropriate statement.

After the incident, the EDL released this statement via the Gates of Vienna blog,
Quote: ‘He was out driving, when he saw a car similar to his wife’s, driven by a blond white girl. The other car flashed its lights so Tommy pulled over [Tommy had no reason to pull over and drivers only pull up for police and ambulance lights]… A group of Pakistani youths wearing knuckle dusters poured out [Knuckle dusters do a lot of damage, Tommy’s pictures after the event showed no significant injury]. Tommy was knocked out pretty quickly, and they gave him a good kicking… He looks pretty beaten up, but no bones were broken, and no eyes or teeth are missing. He had a brain scan this morning. We don’t know the results yet… He has spoken to The Sun, who asked whether he had called the police. Tommy said there was no point, as a racial attack on a white guy was of no interest to them [The failure to catch the criminals and avoiding police confrontation is highly mysterious].’

EDL Advocate The Burning Of Mosques In Preston Protest

We’ve seen a lot of cases of violence, abuse and vandalism since the EDL began, but the chants given off in this protest in the city of Preston are highly disturbing, calling for the burning of the Islamic places of worship which are mosques.

A fellow British citizen captured this video.

Quote: “... Burn a mosque… E E EDL E E EDL”
We have yet to see a condemnation, let alone a apology from the EDL.

If Buildings Lived They Would Hate The EDL

We know that the majority of the British public don’t like the EDL, rather they are more likely to fear them. But now we know that even British buildings do not favour the EDL and want EDL supporters off the streets.

Why? This is partly why.

EDL members showing no mercy.

In the video below, an EDL supporter who shouted “You dirty Muslim b*stards” on top of a car, makes a fool out of himself. As he reached out to the ledge, the ledge may have moved out of place hereby making him fall.

Who knows? What we do know, is that the British buildings have spoken.

Uh Oh! This Won't Go Down Well With The JDL

The EDL and JDL (the Jewish Defence League) seem to be the best of buddies. But this particular moment when EDL leader Tommy Robinson addressed his supporters at the EDL protest at Tower Hamlets seems to mock British Jews, nevermind only the JDL.

In the same speech, Tommy threatened the whole British Muslim community. But on the day, he was banned from attending the march and so he dressed up in a Jewish male garment with a fake beard to hide from the police. As he got up to the podium, he clearly said:
Quote: “You know how long I’ve been waiting to take this sh*t off”

This should’t be too good for the groups friendship.

Also, British Jews have no reason to support the EDL. Tommy clearly thinks its acceptable to mock a Jewish piece of clothing and wear it merely to escape bail conditions!

‘Guns Don’t Kill People Islam Does’ So Do Swords Tommy

We recently did a post about Tommy Robinson's Tweet.

We found out that guns do indeed kill people. But to our amazement, we found out swords can also kill people! Swords, like the ones this EDL member is holding so proudly...

So yes... now we are petrified of the EDL.

Press TV's Logo Confuses EDL Member

This video goes back to 2009, as EDL protesters held a demonstration outside a mosque. The mosque or any of its worshippers didn’t do anything bad, it was just there. Somehow, it was a perfect excuse to scare locals wearing balaclavas and holding placard signs right outside.

One supporter seemed more worried about the Press TV microphone rather than the mosque.

There are different ideas as to why the EDL supporter was confused. Some state it resembled the Oldham Council logo, and some state he thought it was a Islamic symbol.

Don't worry guys, it isn't a crescent moon and star

EDL Leader Tweets ‘Guns Don’t Kill People Islam Does’

Despite showing a huge amount of anti-Islamic ideology, is this quote really that true? What about the countless EDL members who have took pictures of themselves holding their household ammunition and posted them online for friends to see?

Source. Guns don't kill people Tommy? Or are these just toys?

Guns do kill people. That being said, we don't think the EDL leader has any idea how extreme the EDL and its supporters can be.

Are The EDL Angels Really Angels?

There are so many Divisions in the EDL, even women have their own Division (why are they being segregated, is this oppression? We wonder). Nevertheless, we sometimes get a glimpse of these lovely Angels at EDL protests.

Many people may wonder how much they contribute to the EDL and its network. They seem to make up a smaller minority, but still pose a threat to dividing communities and faith groups in Britain. We still see abuse across the online network (which the EDL hasn’t openly condemned) like this one from an EDL Angel.

Eerie Statement By Tommy Robinson On English Lads Turning Into Suicide Bombers

Quote: 'I think if things were left the way they were... and nothing changes... you've probably... five years away from now you'll have English lads wanting to blow themselves up. Because people are so angry about what's going on, so angry and so feel under threat under complete oppression to do with Islam.'
The scary thing about this statement is that the Norway bomber, Anders Breivik slaughtered more than 70 people not long afterwards.

Clearly, this can show us how extreme the far-right can get, especially if nothing is done to prevent such groups from gaining support.

EDL Supporters Attack Bus Carrying Black Youths

Whilst London was in serious turmoil during the London Riots of 2011, police officers were clashing with rioters to stop rioters wrecking havoc within and around the city. The series of events were nothing related to the EDL and no EDL supporter was in sight…

Except for this rather terrifying occasion.

This… people, is a definition of terrorism.

Note: The interviewed EDL member in the video said ‘these are local people, not EDL...’ but then contradicts himself by saying ‘so the EDL has come down, around 50 of us...’

Ban The Burqa! But Sell And Wear Similar Clothing

“We are a human rights organisation and we care about everyone... BAN THE BURQA”

We’ve constantly seen the EDL and its supporter’s opposition to the burqa. But many of their supporters fail to understand that wearing a similar piece of clothing that highly resembles the burqa itself and shouting “BAN THE BURQA”is highly contradictory. Most of all, it looks as scary as the Islamic extremists.

Even EDL supporter website Casuals United sell this crazy gear!

Limited stock only boys. Get 'em while you can.

It is especially contradictory to the Mission Statement that states the EDL is a ‘Human Rights Organization’. Where are the human’s rights in allowing people to wear what they want? Surely, even if the burqa looks bad, it does not mean that it should be banned. That would oppose the freedom of expression and freedom of belief everyone is entitled to.

This EDL supporter certainly used his freedom of expression well... to conjure up the scariest mask ever.

Spot the difference.

One EDL Protest Costs Halifax Town £336,000

The EDL organized a protest at the small multicultural and diverse town of Halifax.

The protest was a fairly average one, but involved a tonne of police units, vehicles and a helicopter to take to the streets and keep an eye out for any cases of misbehavior, whilst EDL supporters were standing in alleyways trying to look busy whilst many were caged near the train station.

The Halifax Courier (11 Oct 11) reported that £336,000 was spent just for this one protest, and what’s more is that... the cost was three times bigger than expected! The British taxpayer money had gone to waste, just for the likes of the EDL.

The EDL don’t even do a good job at tackling ‘Islamists’ by protesting, so what is the point?

The government gives money to keep the community safe, whilst the EDL is busy asking for donations.

For the usual pub-crawls?

EDL Leader Lies About Impersonated Anders Breivik On National TV

On a BBC programme named The Big Question, EDL leader, Tommy Robinson claimed he did not impersonate Anders Breivik, the Norwegian mass murderer who slaughtered over 70 people.

On the show, the presenter asked about the impersonation, but Robinson claimed he was wearing a “hood” and “goggles” at the time and therefore looked like a frog. He claimed what he actually said was “Ribbit”.

Whilst Tommy was drunk, a Muslim man in the video told Tommy not all Muslims are bad, but Tommy said:
Quote: ...Other than Breivik coz he’ll shoot ‘em all… I’m from Norway and I’ll shoot you.

Even the BBC programme showing him do the impersonation provided the correct subtitles. Making such an insensitive joke was out of hand, but worst of all, the EDL leader lied on national television. How can people trust him?

Using The Word ‘Infidel’ The Wrong Way Round

The term ‘infidel’ has a Latin origin from the late 15th Century, French ‘infidèle’ or Latin ‘infidelis’, from in – ‘not’ and fidelis – ‘faithful’. But to many EDL supporters surprise, Christians were one of the first to use this term to describe the enemies of Christianity, and particularly Muslims during the Crusades.

Don't mind the scary looking supporter on the right.

EDL supporters like to argue back saying that the Arabic word ‘Kaafir’ means ‘Infidel’. Really, it doesn’t and it’s merely translated as that by some English translators. The Arabic word is historically older and merely means “a person who hides or covers the truth”. It was also used to describe farmers burying seeds in the ground, ‘covering’ them with soil while planting.

Note: A minority of extremists have used the word ‘Infidel’, but this doesn’t mean they are correct.

In conclusion, if an EDL member uses the term ‘Infidel’ to describe themselves, then historically speaking, they are calling themselves non-Christian. But it’s not like many of them have a good education to know this.

Christians now have no reason to support the non-believing EDL.

EDL Leader Threatens The Whole British Muslim Community

The EDL were not welcome at the borough of Tower Hamlets on the 3rd September 2011. The video speaks for itself, highlight various (non-Muslim) residents speaking out against the EDL and their plans to march.

Despite listening to British citizens... The EDL still attended. EDL leader Tommy Robinson (Stephen Yaxley-Lennon) made a defiant speech during the protest, perhaps addressing his supporters with a speech that perhaps, did more harm than good.

Quote: “Every single Muslim watching this video on Youtube, on 7/7, you got away with killing and maiming British citizens... you had better understand that we have built a network from one end of the country to the other end... and the Islamic community will feel the full force of the English Defence League if we see any of our British citizens killed maimed or hurt on British soil ever again.”
This completely undermines what the EDL stands for, and tears the Mission Statement to pieces, which states that the EDL only opposes ‘Islamic extremism’. Here, the whole Muslim population of Britain is being attacked head-on... by the leader himself!

Leader breaks British law the same day

As well as disregarding the EDL’s aims and ambitions, Tommy Robinson also broke British law the same day. He was banned from attending the march beforehand and was arrested later in the day for breaking his bail conditions.

Dissecting The EDL Mission Statement

In this article we’ll be analysing the EDL Mission Statement that highlights the groups aims and objectives. We will highlight the problematic statements within it, adding appropriate notes inside the brackets at the end of each particular verse or statement.

(1) HUMAN RIGHTS: Protecting And Promoting Human Rights

The English Defence League (EDL) is a human rights organisation [a belief that carries no weight] that was founded in the wake of the shocking actions of a small group of Muslim extremists who, at a homecoming parade in Luton, openly mocked the sacrifices of our service personnel without any fear of censure [The extremist group has been banned, is that enough?]. Although these actions were certainly those of a minority, we believe [Uncertainty] that they reflect other forms of religiously-inspired intolerance and barbarity that are thriving amongst certain sections of the Muslim population in Britain: including, but not limited to, the denigration and oppression of women, the molestation of young children, the committing of so-called honour killings, homophobia, anti-Semitism, and continued support for those responsible for terrorist atrocities [unethical and inaccurate to state these acts are religiously-inspired].

‘Peacefully Protesting Against Islamic Extremism’ Really?

We don’t know when this new tagline was made, but it sure is funny. Not because its inaccurate, but it just doesn’t fit well with the EDL’s standards of protests, because the EDL are known for being a nuisance. They’re even more aggressive than the Muslim extremists they opposed whom merely shouted insults (the extremist group has been banned). The EDL just go the whole new level.

Even if there have been a few peaceful protests, the majority of EDL protests do tend to involve fighting and violence (as well as a waste of taxpayer money). As an example, ordinary citizens in Leicester faced a great ordeal when they were minding they’re own business and eating at a restaurant when all of a sudden... EDL PROTESTERS SMASH WINDOWS, BREAK IN AND SCARE THE HELL OUT OF THEM!

Even a baby crying doesn’t make them turn back.

Scaring People About Sharia Law Has No Basis

Like Jews who abide by the Mosaic Law, Muslims abide by Sharia Law. Muslims use the Quran and Sunnah (Muhammad’s way of life) as codes of conduct, and when followed, this is called Sharia Law.

With headlines reading out about Sharia Law and some extremists calling for it, Sharia Law sounds somewhat scary. It has led many people to think that Sharia Law is indeed, taking over the law of the land. But people fail to recognize that it is extremely difficult to implement in the UK in the first place. People who promote this myth (like the EDL) have a limited understanding of how British laws are produced and ratified.

The legislative process

A law starts its life as a Bill, either introduced by the government (a government sponsored Bill) or introduced by an MP in the House of Commons or a Peer in the House of Lords (a private member’s Bill.) All Bills have to pass through both the House of Commons and the House of Lords. It’s finally made an Act of Parliament by the Queen giving it her Royal Assent.

The Bill goes through many readings, Committee stages and reporting stages, which is analyzed, discussed and agreed upon by MP’s and others in the House of Commons and the House of Lords, before being given the Monarch’s Royal Assent.

The problems

1. The MP problem

A Bill would have to be drafted by an MP who supported the introduction of Sharia Law. This MP’s election to the House of Commons is itself predicated on being elected by voters who themselves wanted Sharia Law. As of 2010 there are 8 Muslim MPs out of a total of 650 MPs in the House of Commons, so there’s barely any chance of that happeninh, especially as  there have been 0 MPs who have proposed Sharia Law as of 2010.

2. The Drafting problem

Departmental Select Committees, or Joint Committees of Lords and MPs have an early influence on drafted Bills and as of 2010, there have been none of them who have been willing to draft a Bill supporting Sharia Law.

3. The Voting problem

If the Bill got past the Drafting and First Reading process, it would need to be debated and passed on to go to the next stage. As of 2010, not one politician has proposed or voted for Sharia Law, so its unlikely it will be voted on and passed through by the majority of politicians in the House of Lords and House of Commons.

4. The Royal Assent problem

To become an Act of Parliament the Bill must be given Royal Assent. The reigning monarch would have to agree with Sharia Law. But that’s highly unlikely of happening, especially if she’s a Christian.

Its so difficult to get Sharia Law as the Law of the UK, its practically impossible!

  • Sharia Law does not apply to non-Muslims, even in Sharia Law courts
  • Muslims personally abide by Sharia wherever they may be in the world, so its not merely a political force the EDL and anti-Islamic critics like to make it out to be

Who Are The English Defence League (EDL)?

The English Defence League (EDL) is an organization supposedly opposing ‘Islamic extremism’ and anything Islamic for that matter. Although it claims only to oppose Islamic extremism it targets the entire Muslim community and its actions deliberately seek to whip up tensions and violence between Muslim and non-Muslim communities.

The group began when a few extremists (not even 0.01% of the Muslim population) made fun of army personnel. So now, the EDL stages protests around Britain in opposition (regularly mixing Islamic extremism with Islam itself). Little do they know, they've done more bad than good (nothing good to be honest).

Many of its protests have resulted in violence and it merely adds fuel to the fire. What started as a loose network of football hooligans has developed into a new far-right movement, which poses a threat to Britain, its religious and ethnic diversity, its politics, its economy, and its British values.

This site will help expose and review the actions of the EDL, its leader and its supporters. It won't be too hard, they (and their partners) are not exactly the brightest bunch...

This bright supporter explains what the EDL is about.
