EDL Affiliate Wants Attack At Olympics?

The EDL has many dangerous affiliates and links. One of these is a Twitter group called OperationEnglishVote (you will see the affiliation on its Twitter Page).

Recently, they posted up a rather disgusting tweet.

Do they actually want people to die? This is nothing to even make a joke out of!

Tottenham Court Hostage-Taker Arrested – Fascists Still Silent

As soon as the news came out, many parts of the English Defence League (EDL), thought the hostage taker was a Muslim. But they were wrong. The man was actually a white-skinned British National Party (BNP) candidate!

Ouch.

The man brought central London to a standstill by threatening to blow up an office block over a £1,000 dispute and he has recently been jailed for six years. During the situation he was reported to have said,
Quote: “This is a hostage situation I’ve got enough explosives to blow up the building. I’ve got nothing left to live for. I want you to get armed police here now.”
But we must ask ourselves, where were the EDL when this happened? They barely said a thing! Imagine if the man was someone from Al-Qaeda, God forbid… the situation would be different and the EDL would be protesting.

We posted an article when it happened, and still no EDL member, supporter or affiliate has answered to our claims that the EDL were silent. It’s because it was true. And ever since, the EDL has been silent about the issue.

We have recently issued a challenge to the EDL to protest against one of the recent child groomers were found. We are still waiting for a reply. They can reply on here or on Facebook.

Our Open Challenge To The EDL

It seems the Yorkshire Divisions of the English Defence League (EDL) plan to do another demo on the 4th August. On Facebook, an event has been created and it states,
Quote: ‘For the last 20 years the muslim grooming gangs have been allowed to roam the streets of Keighley unchecked.Preying on young and vunerable girls in the society.’
But what about the 20 more recent cases we found?

As we highlighted in a previous article, we found 20 different cases of child groomers that were committed in the past two months by white males (the majority). The EDL haven’t staged a protest against them whatsoever!

Our theory seems to be true. Why is the EDL silent about these non-Muslim, non-Asian child groomers?

EDLReview challenges the EDL

We challenge the EDL to protest against one of the child groomers we recently found. Click here to see the cases.

SDL Member Posted Racist Messages While Promoting Group

Raymond Strachan, 21, has been convicted for posting racist comments and messages on Facebook whilst also promoting his support for the Scottish Defence League (SDL).

Edinburgh Sheriff Court heard how he visited various pages on Facebook and left various messages on them in an attempt to stir up racial hatred. He abused different racial groups.

He started posting the messages in July 2011 and continued until he was caught in January this year. Police tracked him down after receiving complaints from other Internet users.

Let this be a warning to every racist on the Internet.

EDL’s Guide To Arguing About Animal Slaughter

The English Defence League (EDL) and other affiliates love arguing and complaining about the 'cruelty' of animal slaughter, especially that of halal meat.

But why don't they ever complain about kosher meat too? It's slaughtered practically the same way.

Oh we know, it will break the friendship of the Jewish Defence League (JDL). So this is yet again, another targeting tactic.

Note: For those who think the EDL complain about being forced halal meat, educate yourself. It is not shoved down our throats and the majority of meat is labelled.

Casuals United Book – Are You Joking?

We've covered the English Defence League (EDL) affiliates called the Casuals United before, and my my, they've stooped to a new low. They've recently released a new book.

This is the cover. Seriously.

The toy brand Lego can probably sue the Casuals for using their figurines. And this cover looks like it was drawn by a five-year-old.

It’s sent from the USA and costs £12.50 (Rip-off). And it seems that the far-right group are trying to cash-in from delicate subjects such as the Charlene Downes protests. The book also covers (we quote from the Casuals blog) ‘the violence of the left’...

But how on earth does it even compare to the violence committed by the far-right? Here's an example of a far-right EDL protest in Stoke.

In conclusion, the book is merely a cheap attempt to make the far-right look good. It's unprofessional, it's bias, and worst of all... it's written by a group of fascists.

We're surprised we wasted so much time covering such garbage.

Three EDL Supporters Arrested At Chelmsford

Even with a little turnout at the English Defence League (EDL) demo in Chelmsford, three supporters were arrested for racially aggravated public order offences.

Recent Child Groomers – EDL Silent

The English Defence League (EDL) and other Islamophobic groups and individuals only tend to pick out grooming cases in which those who look Asian or seem 'Muslim' are involved. But this is far from the bigger picture.

Here are some recent cases of child grooming that the EDL have been SILENT ABOUT. Hover over the reference for the proof of source.

Date range: 6 June 2012 – 21 July 2012

14 July 2012 – Mark – The Yorkshire Post reported that one groomer drove miles just to abuse a 15-year-old. He locked his car and used force. He has also tried to have sex with another 15-year-old girl in a public toilet in Eastbourne.

2 July 2012 – Elliot – The Manchester Evening News reported that a 19-year-old teenage boy from Salford, groomed three young girls for sex after chatting to them on Facebook.

22 June 2012 – John – This Is Kent reported that a man from Ramsgate has been jailed for 18 months after downloading indecent images of children and grooming a 14-year-old girl online.

6 June 2012 – Christopher – The BBC reported that a 64-year-old bribed girls with money and confectionery in order to abuse them. He admitted sexual activity with a child and seven charges of indecency or indecent assault and has been jailed.

20 cases of grooming! Why haven't the EDL spoke out?

Clearly, the EDL only speak on cases that interest them. They target Muslim and Asian communities for their own agenda, and fail to even present a balanced picture!

Note: We have not given the full name of the criminal in order to protect their identity.

Melanie Philips Defends EDL? Islamophobic Ties?

Melanie Phillips is a Daily Mail (the ‘Daily Fail’) Spectator columnist, as well as an author. We, and many other blogs and websites have discovered she is rather sympathetic and defensive when it comes to the English Defence League (EDL). She has personally written,
Quote: “In any street altercation like this, the anti-Islamist demonstrators must be aggressors and those who confront them must be either their victims or heroic anti-fascists.
Quote: “The Islamists have an incentive to provoke a violent reaction by white groups calling themselves names like English Defence League — simply in order to produce yet more demonisation of the anti-Islamists.
Not only does she defend the far-right group, she also seems to be inspiration to some of Europe’s leading Islamophobes, such as Pamela Geller (who we’ve covered in this blog before). Geller wrote that Melanie is,
Quote: “…a great intellect and truth teller, a woman I greatly admire
She also praised her book. But she wasn’t the only one who praised Melanie’s work...

The Norway bomber Anders Breivik mentioned Melanie Philips

Breivik cited Melanie’s work in his manifesto quite some times. Was he inspired by her?

A network of similar-thinking far-right individuals and groups?

It seems the Islamophobic and far-right network is connected. Worst of all, they all share similar views, especially as they stick up for eachother publicly (via online platforms) and express the same rhetoric.

Interestingly, the Center of American Progress highlighted an Islamophobia network in America. If we look at all these similar-thinking individuals, we may question whether the network is on an international scale too.

EDL Supporter Convicted For Fracturing Man's Jaw

Steven Crispin, a 23-year old EDL member, fractured the jaw of a Muslim man during an un-policed English Defence League (EDL) march in Dagenham last year.

The EDL member can also be seen holding weapons in his home.

He has been convicted and has got three years for the attack, thanks to the hard work of the group Hope Not Hate, who urged for an investigation.

Two brothers, were walking near their house in Dagenham when a group of EDL thugs, on an EDL march, attacked them. The two brothers were unaware of the march.

The two brothers were punched and kicked to the ground and passer-bys tried to help them.

This, again, shows how violent and aggressive individuals from the EDL can be.

EDL’s Guide To Spotting Terrorists

The English Defence League (EDL) have a really strange agenda. Like paedophiles, the EDL only target those who seem 'Muslim'. It's the same with terrorists.

Anders Breivik was regarded as an act of 'lone wolf terrorism' by the English Defence League website, even though he said he was a Christian. The EDL were quiet when he committed his crimes.

The EDL Jewish Division however, seemed to sympathise with the murderer...

EDL Bathe In Alcohol?

The English Defence League (EDL) really doesn’t make sense at times. Likewise, the EDL's Sutton Division posted up a picture highlighting what it means to be British.

The image talks about beheadings and mutilation, so we can assume this is serious.

Ew.

So if bathing in alcohol is what makes a person British, then we’re leaving. We prefer water.

EDL Homophobia – LGBT Division Silent

At the recent Bristol protest, we have found out that many English Defence League (EDL) supporters were being racist and violent. But who knew that it became homophobic too?

An ex-EDL member described the moment she saw a brutal attack committed by EDL supporters,

Of course, even though the LGBT Division (that hardly has any real homosexual members) supposedly stands up for homosexuals, they have been completely silent over this situation. Even more, they haven’t even issued a condemnation.

The EDL’s LGBT Division, like all other Divisions, only posts up what suits them. It’s deceiving but obvious.

We suspect the EDL is trying to rack in support (hence making a LGBT Division). Another example is when the EDL tried racking in support with the Sikh community after hijacking their protest. So it’s no surprise.

Another Mindless EDL Post Dissected

The English Defence League (EDL)’s anti-Islamic, racist and hate-filled rhetoric is visible a mile off. And yet again, on the official EDL Facebook Page, we found a badly-written post that proves it.

Like we did with the EDL's Mission Statement, we will add our notes in brackets at the end of each ridiculous statement.
Quote: ‘The EDL is not a racist or fascist organisation. [Verbal, physical and online rhetoric by the EDL proves otherwise] You clearly have no understanding of what the EDL is about. [Who?] The EDL campaigns against a barbaric cult stuck in the seventh century. [So the EDL doesn’t ‘promote the understanding of Islam’ like it says in the Mission Statement?] Islam is not a race it is an ideaology. [Spell ideology correctly please] The EDL has nothing against people it is against all forms of oppression.Do you think it right to treat women like chattels? [What’s a chattel? Do you mean cattle?] Do you think it is right that muslim men have their wives walking round imprisoned in black funeral shrouds taking their identity away from them? [What about woman wearing veils at funerals? What about nuns? And no, not all Muslim women wear the burqa, only a minority do] Is it right that Pakistani muslims should be allowed to molest English children because it is acceptable in their culture? [It certainly isn't acceptable in their culture. And is this racism?] Is it right to enforce sharia law, what's wrong with one law for all?"Cherish the multicultural society we live in"-you lot are completely clueless. [By the sounds of it, you seem clueless] Multiculturalism is the reason we live in a divided nation with islamic ghettoes up and down the country. [If true, 'Islamic ghettoes' would not be the only factor, and the EDL does nothing but increase these divides too so this is mindless fear-mongering] Multiculturalism has failed, people who come to live in Britain should integrate and assimilate into British culture not carry on living as seventh century barbarians.Just remember when their are enough muslims they will start to take over [Mindless fear-mongering] and you will see the results of your cherished multiculturalism. [Multicultarism isn’t only about Muslims] Don't think for one minute life will be like it is now. There will be no freedom for the individual, there will be only subjugation and suffering for the non believer [Mindless fear-mongering]
Bad grammar, fear-mongering rhetoric and a lack of knowledge about multiculturalism

As we can see, this admin has a bad literacy level. On a more serious note, the admin believes in conspiracies such as that of Sharia law taking over, that studies have actually proven wrong. He/she also seems to affiliate multiculturalism to simply Muslims only, and this proves how narrow-minded this post is.

Contradicting the Mission Statement

Most of all, the failure to teach people about Islam in a balanced way (and not just insulting it with no constructive criticism whatsoever) contradicts what the EDL’s Mission Statement says!
Quote: ‘(3) PUBLIC EDUCATION: Ensuring That The Public Get A Balanced Picture Of Islam
Quote: The EDL promotes the understanding of Islam
The lack of tolerance is rather appalling and the EDL's Mission Statement is nothing but an attempt to make the organisation look good, because even it's own members fail to act by it!

Crazy EDL Protestor In Bristol

Stoning Punishment? The EDL Do It

We’d think for individuals opposing the act of death by stoning conducted in places like Iran, the far-right English Defence League (EDL) would really avoid being exactly like the extremists they very well oppose.

But this video taken at the recent Bristol demo proves otherwise, where members of the EDL are seen throwing stones and rocks at locals in the area.

Sikh Community Stands Up To The EDL

Not so long ago, the English Defence League (EDL) tried hijacking a Sikh protest. But really, we know it was merely an excuse to gang up on Islam and Muslims and try to make the EDL ‘look good’.

It failed.

In the recent Bristol demo, opposition to the EDL in a counter-protest called “We Are Bristol” also included the Sikh community, that outnumbered the EDL (even though some right-wing loons have claimed otherwise).

In the opening speech, one of the members at the campaign group called Sikhs Against The EDL said,
Quote: “In the fight against racism and fascism we must build the broadest alliance possible uniting all – black and white, gay and straight, those who choose to follow religion and those who do not.”

EDL Supporter Leaves EDL!

The Bristol protest went ahead just recently, and even though one English Defence League (EDL) supporter couldn’t make it, she saw EDL supporters acting shamefully. She saw supporters:

  • Be a nuisance on a public train
  • Try to stir/start fights with passengers
  • Hit a woman who was around 60 odd years old!
  • Vandalise property by smashing a sign on the wall
  • Hit a homosexual as other supporters cheered it on
  • Shout abuse at an Asian taxi driver

After seeing such horrid and racist behaviour, the EDL supporter has decided to quit the EDL for good. Thank you.

Pamela Geller Fails With Numbers

As we covered in an article earlier, the English Defence League (EDL) marched through Bristol. But the EDL's good friend (and notorious Islamophobe) Pamela Geller thinks ‘thousands’ of EDL marched.

We know from figures, police and civilian accounts, and various reports on social media, the EDL were not in their ‘thousands’ at all. And even more, their opposition outnumbered them!

Of course, Pamela Geller and her friends, the EDL, believe in all sorts of crazy conspiracies.

EDL Bristol Demo – Racism And Arrests

The English Defence League (EDL) has protested in Bristol today (14/07/12). Nothing has been achieved so far and we doubt anything positive will come out of this demo.

So far, it seems the EDL hasn't been to great. We've had racist chants and arrests.

Racist chants

A man at the scene photographed and tweeted on his Twitter,
‘Racist chants from EDL march passing welshback’
Arrests

The police have confirmed that four EDL supporters have been arrested, two for face coverings, one for unlawful assembly and one for a racially aggravated public order offence.

Not wanted

Fair to say, the EDL has not been wanted in Bristol and has been outnumbered by anti-EDL protestors and gatherers. People from all walks of life, backgrounds and religions have attended.

EDL try to sell merchandise

The EDL have been trying to sell their merchandise at the protest.

Coincidentally, the EDL's Facebook Page also wanted to cash in just before the demo too.

It seems the EDL are really pushing for sales. They even tried selling literature in the European Parliament recently. We guess the 'Buy Us A Pint' button hasn't worked.

EDL Raise Funds In European Parliament

The far-right is the real creeping threat to civil liberties and freedom. Now they are stealthily meeting in European Parliament to fundraise for their agendas.

Members from far-right organizations in Germany, Sweden and the UK attended a meeting in the European Parliament on 9 July at which literature was sold to attendees. The event was classed as a Non Inscrit Meeting, and not appearing on the usual schedules so it was kept a secret.

The event was an Islamophobic one, with a speaker even saying that “a society which becomes more Muslim becomes less everything else.”

The English Defence League’s (EDL) leader, Tommy Robinson, has been photographed at the event being on the panel. He has also added pictures on his Twitter account and promoted an article about the event too.

The EDL used the name as the International Civil Liberties Alliance as a cover. Members of the right-wing British Freedom Party (BFP) were also present.

Watch out EDL - Our politicians are not happy

Richard Hewitt MEP rightly said,
“In the same way Nick Griffin and the BNP tried to use the European Parliament as a spring board and failed abysmally, the EDL will find they are badly out-of-their-depth… I have written to the President of the European Parliament to complain about the use of our facilities to raise funds for such hate organisations and to investigate whether other meetings are planned.”
He is just one of the many people who are taking action. Good.

Here Come The EDL Conspiracies! Part 3

The English Defence League (EDL) and other far-right sympathisers are known to spread false information.

But the EDL's leader, Tommy Robinson, has also made himself look rather silly with a tweet.

We know this is quite untrue, because:

  • Major Islamic charity publish annual accounts of their income and expenditure, including financial numbers!
  • Many major charities also send this information to their donator's doors so people can see progress!

Nice try Tommy.

University Study Proves EDL Wrong

An analysis by Arizona State University's Center for Strategic Communication studied that ‘Muslim extremists’ don’t really have the intention to dominate (Islamify) the world, but to protect themselves from various reasons i.e. foreign occupation.

The new research

CNN reported (10/07/12),

Quote: ‘Muslim extremists are more concerned with defending against foreign intrusion than foisting Islam on the world, according to a new study of extremist texts. The study suggests that a Western approach of claiming extremists are seeking world domination is misdirected, and instead should seek to counteract claims of victimhood.’
But the English Defence League (EDL) and other Islamophobic far-right organisations and individuals don’t believe this, and neither will be accepting towards this research. Here are examples of what the EDL think, using some excerpts from their own Mission Statement.

Excerpts from the EDL’s Mission Statement

Quote: ‘This is why the EDL will continue to work to protect the inalienable rights of all people to protest against radical Islam’s encroachment into the lives of non-Muslims
Quote: ‘Sharia is most definitely a threat to our democracy.’
Quote: ‘…sharia is already creeping into our lives.
Quote: ‘Islam is not just a religious system, but a political and social ideology that seeks to dominate all non-believers and impose a harsh legal system that rejects democratic accountability and human rights
Quote: ‘…all people in England, whatever their background, or origin, can stand united in a desire to stop the imposition of the rules of Islam on non-believers… In order to ensure the continuity of our culture and its institutions, the EDL stands opposed to the creeping Islamisation of our countrythe spread of Islamic religion is the political desire to implement an undemocratic alternative to our cherished way of life: the sharia.
Quote: ‘We believe that the demand for sharia is global…it is time for the whole world to unite against a truly Global Jihad

Clearly, the EDL think that Islam, and its followers are keen on dominating the world.

Click here to read our analysis of the Mission Statement.

The EDL have a closed mindset

By analysing the EDL’s Mission Statement, we can see that the EDL has a strong belief that Islam is dominating the world, or ‘militant Islam’ is dominating the world. But really, this University’s study proves to show this belief is incorrect and the EDL are merely propagating and exaggerating these beliefs onto others.

Conspiracy theories have already begun.

False information and fear feed the views and ideologies of the EDL, as even we have analysed in an earlier article before providing an example from the American Defense League (ADL). Click here to read it.

American Defense League Propagates Lies

The American version of the English Defence League (EDL), the American Defense League (ADL), has been misleading its readers by stirring up hate and inaccurate information from an Islamophobic website.

Like gullible far-right sympathizers, they tend to believe everything they read.

This tactic is propagated by various Islamophobic websites (no surprise) and it involves a little widget that supposedly displays ‘Islamic attacks’.

It's not accurate - The ADL are fear-mongering

LoonWatch documented this case of propaganda and debunked it to be highly inaccurate in a in-depth article. In it, LoonWatch state:
Quote: “Even a cursory glance at TROP’s list of so-called “Islamic terrorist attacks” reveals it to be nothing more than a deeply biased, propagandistic spin-job that conflates: real terrorist attacks, (semi) religious/culturally motivated crimes, attacks on military personnel and attacks by secular groups with no ideological basis in Islam — all in theaters of occupation, civil war and separatist conflict.”

Study Says Al-Qaeda Only Want To Defend Themselves: Islamophobes Reject It

Islamophobes always have the narrow viewpoint that extremists want to ‘take over’. But a controversial new study said that these extremists aren't intending to ‘take over’ or 'dominate the world'.

Of course, Islamophobes like the English Defence League (EDL) can’t really believe it…

…and even when their favourite tabloid Daily Mail (the 'Daily Fail') reports about it.

In the link, the news story talks about Afghan army personnel who are helping battle against the threat of improvised devices. So they’re helping troops.

But whom exactly does the admin (known as KP) want blown up?

We’re sure that wanting people blown up is something that can warrant an arrest.

Misleading: Robert Spencer & Pamela Geller

Two far-right Islamophobes popular for their hate speech and discriminatory remarks, Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller, have been known to emphasise with the English Defence League (EDL).

But even more, they've been misleading their readers about the recent arrests on the M1 about the terror suspects who had weapons in their car.

Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer mislead readers

Pamela Geller.

Pamela Geller wrote about the terror plot to 'target an EDL rally'. She wrote:
Quote: “COUNTER-JIHAD EDL RALLY TARGETED FOR ISLAMIC BOMB ATTACK IN LATEST UK TERROR PLOT, MASS MURDER AVERTED”
Robert Spencer (Pamela's close friend), the fake scholar regurgitated it,

Quote: “Jihad terrorists targeted EDL demonstration: It has come to light that the latest spate of arrests of jihad terrorists in the UK prevented them from committing jihad mass murder at an EDL demo.

But the terror plot to target the EDL is not conclusive!

The Mirror reported (07/07/12),
Quote: ‘Counter-terror police were yesterday investigating whether two men found with a bomb in their car were on their way to attack an English Defence League rally.’
So we have NOT been told if this is true and no official source has confirmed it to be true. So Pamela Geller and Robert Spencer are twisting things and making quick assumptions.

If true, the police say these Islamophobes are feeding the extremism!

The BBC reported (19/11/10),
Quote: ‘Right-wing groups like the English Defence League are turning parts of Britain into recruiting grounds for Islamic extremists, police have said.’
These right-wing Islamophobes are feeding extremism!

Pamela Geller makes no sense - Is she lying?
Quote: “Tommy Robinson called me yesterday with the grave news that Scotland Yard had advised him that the EDL had been the intended target of a Taliban-style bombing. It is the first time such an improvised explosive device – used by Taliban insurgents to kill British troops in Afghanistan – has been found in the UK.”
But this doesn’t make sense, because:

  • Why hasn’t any of the British press received any of this information about the EDL rally being targeted? They haven't, because Robert Spencer and Pamela Geller are making assumptions.
  • Surely, this is not the first improvised explosive device to be found in the UK.

Of course, the EDL will be attending the 'Worldwide Counter-Jihad Initiative', so it makes perfect sense that these two are sticking up for their allies.

EDL Receive Intelligence From Israel?

Does the English Defence League (EDL) leadership ring receive information from Israel? Well, according to a snippet of a BBC programme that was aired some time ago, they do.

The EDL member in question is classed by the presenter as one of the ‘brains of the EDL’. But who knew the EDL have to stoop so low as to receive ‘intelligence’ from an outbound source?

Is it so hard for EDL supporters to use their own brain?

The EDL Isn't Working

With numbers at protest in the decline, it looks like people are thinking twice about being affiliated to the English Defence League (EDL). Why? The EDL isn't working.

We've already made some articles highlighting how the EDL isn't working (given in the further reading below), but this image shows a lot as it is.
